About Lake Newell

Lake Newell is the warmest and largest Man-Made Lake in Alberta! It is also home to some of the best fishing in South Eastern Alberta, and one of the fastest lakes for sailing and wind surfing.


Right next to the lake is the incredible Kinbrook Island Provincial Park which is a great place to camp and enjoy the lake from the beach. There is also a boat launch for you to set sail from; if boating is not for you, how about an incredible wetlands tour? 


The Kinbrook Island Marsh trails are among some of the most unique spots for Biodiversity in Southern Alberta. Lake Newell is home to many species of birds which can be found throughout the year.
