Book Launch Event

Free Admission to the Galleries |Exhibition tour with guest curator Deborah Forbes | Refreshments

Tapestry by artist-makers rather than artist-designers, is rare in a time of instantaneity and the global outsourcing of skilled labour tasks. One of humanity’s most ancient creative and technological practices, weaving in some form has existed for at least 12,000 years and yet is relevant as contemporary art. This new publication with main text by Deborah Forbes focusses on the intricate and accomplished tapestry works by Ann Newdigate, Jane Kidd and Murray Gibson in the exhibition overandunder…

Join guest curator Deborah Forbes for the launch of the exhibition catalogue, designed by Medicine Hat College alumna/ACAD instructor Kelly Hartman. The book will be available at a special rate this evening only.

The exhibition overandunder… continues to January 26.
