Winter Light Festival and Horse & Wagon Rides

As the garden is navigating new restrictions put in place by the Alberta Government, the horse & wagon rides on December 4 & 5 have been cancelled. Those who have purchased tickets are encouraged to email info@nikkayuko.com to we can offer refunds or reschedule your wagon ride to an alternate date.

Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind as you Experience the Friendship at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden's annual Winter Light Festival! Bundle up and take in our massive light display, ice sculptures, and other surprises throughout the garden! Learn about Japanese customs and traditions that they celebrate during the winter months.

Basha Nori [Horse & Wagon] rides around Henderson Lake will run every 15 minutes. You must have purchased tickets for the wagon rides in advance, walk-ups cannot be accommodated. Wagon rides are limited to 10 people, we ask guests to practice social distancing while on the wagon. Face masks are required while on the wagon.

If you've purchased Basha Nori tickets, please check in at the Horse & Wagon sign outside of the Visitors Centre.

If you've purchased a regular garden admission, please proceed to the main gates with your pre-purchased tickets during the time slot shown on the ticket. Concession is located inside the garden with a variety of hot beverages and cookies available for purchase. 

The garden pathways are one-way only, please follow the signs and arrows and ensure you are maintaining a distance of 6 feet from other guests. Masks are required inside our Visitors Centre, but not mandatory outdoors. Bathrooms are located in the Visitors Centre and are limited to two people at one time. 

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we cannot accommodate line-ups in our ticket office so all guests must pre-purchase tickets in order to gain entry. Entry to the garden is sold in half hour intervals, meaning we will not be selling any tickets on the night of. Purchase tickets online or over the phone by calling the garden at 403-328-3511.
