Great plays and lots of music this week

It is another great week for dramatic productions.
So on please  check out previews of the University of Lethbridge’s last Theatre Xtra production of the season of Fast Girls” running Feb. 27-March 1 in the David Spinks Theatre. Also this week, New West Theatre opens their last production of the season with  Ken Cameron’s comedy “ Harvest” running at the Sterndale Bennett Theatre Feb. 27- March 8.
There is also a lot of great music coming up.
look for interviews with Ottawa blues trio MonkeyJunk, who the Geomatic Attic brought to The Lethbridge College Barn, Feb. 26. They are also bringing in  Manitoba songwriter Del Barber to  the Attic, March 2, so look for an interview with him about his new CD “Prairieography” and using a grain silo as an echo chamber.
Lethbridge welcomes Juno award winning  flamenco/ world music guitarist Jesse Cook, so look for a piece on his tour, his PBS special and his CD “Blue Guitar.”
For people who love good rock an roll music, check out interviews with  Calgary indie rock band the Dudes who return to Lethbridge to rock in March at Scores.
And Ottawa band Autumns Cannon who open for the Goo Dolls at the Enmax Centre, March 3.  Check out the interview with them about opening for ZZ Top as well as recording their new CD.

Even better,  there is an excellent interview with comedian Brent Butt of Corner Gas fame about his show at the Yates Theatre and his first movie “No Clue.”  There are also lots of concert reviews and pics. There is just  a lot going on anyway including Rock N The Nations VII which is at the Smokehouse on Saturday. Look for the details on it and other great shows in the week’s preview.
Later on look for a preview of The Galt Museum’s “Nerdfest Redux” and CD reviews. I have a stack of great new releases begging to be heard.
