Stop The Shock to hold Brooks Event

Albertans for affordable Electricity –  "Stop The Shock" – is coming to the Brooks Heritage Inn Saturday March 24th from 1.00 - 4.00 PM. This event will be broadcast via Facebook live and, according to organizer S Todd Beasley, is “an absolute must for business leaders, political decision makers, pensioners, farmers, ranchers and those on a fixed income.”

The event will focus on access to affordable electricity - a key pillar of our prosperity which the group warns is under direct threat as a result of our current government’s power policies.

“Disastrous heavily subsidized ‘capacity’ contracts for Wind and Solar and the shut down of our highly advantageous Coal Prime Power and is an unfolding Boondoggle which must be opposed and must be stopped” said one post to their Facebook page. “These policies have failed miserably in every jurisdiction they've been tried. It benefits no one in our society when our monthly power bills increase 3-7 times” the group added.

To keep abreast of the issue, the group encourages you to like their Facebook page Stop The Shock and to either watch or attend the meeting in person on the 24th. If you would like to support the group financially there will be a collection jar at the meeting or you are invited to make a cash donation at the Brooks Bulletin towards their advertising costs.
