Due to cuts in the Provincial Budget this year, STEP, (Student Temporary Employment Program) a major grant for hiring students in the summer months, was discontinued. This will be a great blow to the Fort Museum’s most well-known programs and performances. Pass the word along!

The Musical Ride is a recreation of the first equine riding demonstration that was performed in Fort Macleod in 1876 by the North West Mounted Police.  The Ride has been an important and iconic part of the town for 40 years and attracts over 20,000 tourists to the region every year.  Tourism is an important industry in the Town of Fort Macleod and effects the survival of many local businesses.
